Data Rooms Workflows
Step-by-step — create a room, run the diligence agent, ask questions, compare documents, and generate reports.
The core Data Rooms workflows, in the order most teams use them.
Create a room and add documents
- Open Data Rooms → Rooms and create a room for the manager, fund, or counterparty under review.
- Upload documents, or pull them in from a connected source (see BYOD sources or ODD on Drive).
- Set access and watermarking before sharing externally (see Reference → Access & watermarking).
Run diligence
The fastest path is the Run diligence action — it starts the diligence agent over the room's documents.
- From the room, choose Run diligence.
- The agent reads the documents and produces an agent run — its steps, extractions, and proposed outputs.
- Review the run under AI Operations → Agent Runs. Anything that changes state waits in Approvals for your sign-off.
Ask questions (Q&A)
Use Q&A to interrogate a room conversationally.
- Open Data Rooms → Q&A for the room.
- Ask a question (e.g. "What is the manager's valuation policy for illiquid positions?").
- Answers come back cited to the source documents so you can verify.
Compare documents
Use Compare Docs to diff two documents — successive drafts, or two managers' policies.
- Open Data Rooms → Compare Docs.
- Select the two documents.
- Review the side-by-side differences.
Generate a report
- Open Data Rooms → Reports.
- Generate a diligence report or summary from the room's contents.
- Export or share the result.
Diligence outputs are a starting point for human review, not a replacement for it. Every state-changing action routes through Approvals.
